Madeleine is a flexible fit due to her very stretchy waistband. If in doubt, size down. She can accommodate a size up on the hip. Length from waist to hem is approximately 75cm.

This is a silky satin with a beautiful weight to it, 100% viscose, lined with 100% light cotton voile.
Wash at 30°C with similar colours. Hang dry and iron on the coolest setting. Don't tumble dry or dry clean.

I’d debated ordering this skirt for a while, with Laura’s (very patient) help I settled on a size 8 for a neat fit on the waist whilst still draping nicely over my pear shaped hips. At 4’11, I worried it would be too long but it’s perfect, just shows a little ankle. I’m so glad I ordered the teal, its my new favourite colour, please Laura bring back teal again soon 💙
The teal Madeleine in a size 10 was perfectly proportioned for 5’0” me. It feels lovely on your skin and glides when you walk. I received many compliments when I wore it at a dinner in Soho. It is very versatile and I plan to dress it up or dress it down depending on the occasion. It can go all the way from board room to China Town with ease.
This skirt is soo bougie, but you can absolutely wear it casual too! The fabric is incredibly soft and lightweight, which falls gorgeously and flatteringly on my figure (and honestly, would on yours too!). The fit is perfect for us girlies with a smaller frame but who has curves. The skirt sits at just the right spot on the waist and falls to mid-calf, instead the ankle like other brands attempt at petite sizing!
The rich, vibrant colors and the subtle sheen of the silky material make this skirt look expensive.

This is the third item I have ordered from The Shortlist. I got the skirt in a 14 in Garden. I am actually a 16 usually but it does fit and flatter due to the elastication in the waist and the beautiful cut. I love green and this shade is not quite like anything else I have.
I’ve been following the shortlist from the start but only just made my first purchase and I’m so glad I waited as it was definitely worth it! The material is so luxurious you really CAN tell the difference. But the fit is what makes the shortlist stand out - perfect on the waist with a lot of stretch, snug on the hips (and actually on the hips, not below them!) but yet with enough movement to allow for sitting comfortably with no fear seams will snap. The lining means it hangs beautifully and doesn’t cling in areas you don’t want it to. So impressed and definitely worth the money!
