Say hello to Yasmin, our petite, high waisted, wide leg trousers. We’ve been dying to make you some trousers and took our time to get them absolutely spot on. And here they are, the perfect easy, casual silhouette with subtle tailoring and unbelievable comfort. Made from an exquisitely soft yet durable eco fabric, we spent weeks perfecting a fit that’s flattering for petites. All that’s left for you to do is pop them on and wonder what you did without them.

Laura wears a size 6. Her measurements are 32-24-37 and she’s 5’1.5” (156cm)

Yasmin fits true to size with some flexibility because of her soft, elasticated waistband. She can accommodate a size up on the hip. If in doubt, size down. Length from waist to hem is approximately 94cm. Inside leg measurement is approximately 71cm (28").

This is a velvety soft and smooth 100% TENCEL Modal.

TENCEL Modal is a sustainable, eco-friendly fabric. The fibres are extracted from beech wood grown in a self-sufficient energy process, and are fully compostable and biodegradable. Tencel is exceptionally soft and durable, holding up well to repeated washing.

Wash at 30°C with similar colours. Hang dry and iron on a medium setting. Don't tumble dry or dry clean.

Life saver capsule wardrobe trousers

For reasons beyond my control, I’ve been living out of suitcases the last 6 weeks, whilst needing to work & socialise in lots of different contexts and weathers! I survived with ease thanks to my black Yasmins and wish I’d bought them at launch. I didn’t because I hadn’t been sure about pleat fronted trousers thanks to 80’s horrors, but c’mon, these are Shortlist so they fit, flatter and function to shortlistastic perfection.

Absolutely perfect

Love the colour, love the pockets, love the elastic waistband, love the material, love the fit - overall so flattering that I quickly ordered another pair in black.
I always find trousers hard to buy as I have short legs and wider thighs so often find they are too tight around the thigh or too long on the leg. I do not have this problem with these trousers. Thank you Laura.

Worth it

Its taken me a minute to think about what to write... when I received my package, my first instinct was that The Shortlist thought I'd only ordered one pair, when I'd ordered both colour ways - and not because Laura would make that sort of error, but because they were so light, I was convinced it could only be one pair. I do in fact have both colour ways and I am utterly delighted. They're everything that was promised, and I knew Laura had in her to come up with a petite trouser to last the ages. They're worth it- worth the wait, worth the cash, worth the effort Laura put into them. Once again, they fit like they were tailored for me. The fabric is delicious, they have pockets, which is the best thing ever. I'm having to restyle my wardrobe so I can figure out how to wear them every day.

Perfection

Trousers are usually my nemesis, but Yasmin has turned it around for me. I'm 4ft 11 and these fit perfectly, can just about wear them with flats without them dragging on the floor, and they look great with a heel too.
The waist band is gorgeous, I love the gather at the back but the flat finish to the front, and the material is the softest fabric I've ever worn. They drape perfectly and most importantly, they don't dig in after a meal. If I didn't have young children with constantly dirty hands, I'd absolutely be buying the lighter colour too! I hope to see more trousers in the Shortlist's future as this is the item I find hardest to shop for as a petite!
